About the Artists:
Artistic Positions

In their interplay, the artistic positions presented form a shared structure in which figuration, abstraction, and spatial presence are not treated as separate categories, but as interwoven modes of contemporary artistic thought.

Maria Wirth
Inspired by literature and philosophy, Maria Wirth creates multilayered, powerful visual worlds. Her semi-figurative works address fundamental human themes such as desire, fear, love, violence, memory, and transformation.

Alejandro Urrutia
Alejandro Urrutia explores the synergies between architectural and sculptural principles. His works materialize physical phenomena such as gravity, balance, tension, and resistance within precisely composed sculptural forms.

Sophia Frese
In her large-scale abstract paintings, Sophia Frese examines the interconnection between the human body and nature. Her works evoke the elemental beauty and tectonic depth of planetary formations while remaining closely tied to gesture, rhythm, and perception.

Matthias Pabsch
Through his so-called Bioscapes, Matthias Pabsch investigates the relationship between humanity and nature. His organically interwoven acrylic glass sculptures generate layered projections, referencing natural forms while pointing toward possible synthetic-biological futures.

All About the Exhibition:
Between Light And Form

With Between Light And Form, the Paragon Foundation presents its first group exhibition in Leipzig.

The exhibition explores the relationship between light, material, and spatial form as fundamental elements of contemporary art. Positioned between figuration and abstraction, the works form a shared field of perception in which structure, balance, and transformation come into focus.

Curated by Prof. Dr. Georges Awad, the exhibition invites visitors to engage with art as an open, contemplative space — defined not by explanation, but by experience.
